The best way to help pollinators is by adding native plants

According to The Conversation, many common lawn flowers in North America, such as bull thistle and ground ivy, are nonnative species introduced from Europe and Asia. While they may attract pollinators, these invasive plants often displace native species, degrade natural habitats, and contribute to problems like soil erosion and reduced biodiversity. Their aggressive spread can create near-monocultures and force surrounding communities to rely on herbicides to manage them. Planting native plants instead supports a healthier ecosystem by promoting true biodiversity and offering meaningful resources to a wider range of pollinators.
